UPDATED: Perhaps the dumbest email I have ever written….
This was recently updated, see bottom.
Recently, I had the rare pleasure/honor of meeting with Dan Levitan, managing director of Maveron LLC, to discuss SCOTTEVEST. I knew but forgot that Maveron’s other main partner was Howard Schultz, founder of Starbucks and Dan was involved with bringing Starbucks public. I thought I would share my stupidity with you all.

That would be great. How about Tulley’s?

Scott: Each year Maveron hosts an annual meeting for our limited partners. At this meeting I always have swag for our guest. This year I was thinking it would be cool to give one of your jackets. … Would this be something you would have interest in working with us on? We would of course be looking to purchase the items from you with the hope that we might receive a discount for a large order. We would need approximately 100-125. Our clients are educated, high net worth business people. Let me know your thoughts. Andra
PS Loved your recent blog! J

All I can say is if that’s the dumbest email you’ve ever sent, you’ve lived a charmed life compared to me. One of the hallmarks of business is constantly checking out what the competition is doing, something Starbucks hasn’t been doing as of late, at least from my vantage point.

Ok, it wasn’t the dumbest email. As it turns out someone from Maveron ready it and thought it was hilarious, and inquired about buying 120 or so products for their partners! So, perhaps the smartest email I ever wrote, afterall.
