Poll: Do you think we (Scottevest) should market our clothes primarily as Travel Clothing? Please help.
For years, we have not marketed our clothing for any particular demographic group so as not to limit us. I am now re-thinking this approach, and considering focusing primarily on the traveler, both business and leisure traveler, using messages directly to the traveler. While our clothing works great for travelers, it also works great for anyone who wants to carry a bunch of "stuff" with them without looking like a "dork". I am considering doing some major print ad buys to support this messaging. I think in the past our messages have had too many facets to attract a single thought to lead to higher levels of conversions. Fact is that most of our customers continue to buy after their first purchase, we just need to convince more people to buy in the first place. If we can follow the messaging of Ex Officio to some degree, and companies like Cardhart, which somehow made construction clothing cool but applied to the travel market, I think we can take this company to the next level. Your constructive thoughts would be much appreciated.

One thing you may want to consider is to creat a forum for users of your clothing. Imagine for example being able to have user entries by profession, by clothing type, etc that would allow those in similar professions or with the same types of clothing to share experinces in with the clothing. As it stands, I’m not sure what the hec I would do with so many pockets — examples and guides that may relate specifically to me from others may help alot.
You should also pay a bit more attention to the cut of the clothing. While no fashion maven am I, it does not escape my notice that more flattering cuts of clothing command better attention and popularity — as it stands now your clothing looks strictly funcitonal – which is fine, but more attention to fashionable cuts may increase your sales.
That would be nice – a very sturdy, utilitarian clothing that is also very well cut and flattering to the wearer — you could start charging a good premium for something like that.

Great comments. I agree for the most part but some of our clothing does have a more fashionable cut. The pictures don’t do a very good job showing that.
