Elbow D-rings in Covert Finetex 4.0?

I recently purchased the Covert Finetex 4.0. I think I've nearly discovered all its dozens of pockets and features, but there are still a couple things whose purpose escapes me.

Right about at the elbow, the jacket has nylon loops with plastic d-rings. I can't find anything else on the jacket they might interact with, and I can't seem to imagine a use for them where they're placed.

What are they for?

These are for attaching gloves, etc. No interaction with fleece or otherwise intended. Just more features!

Thanks! I may pick your brain on a few more features as I discover them.

It seems that every time I think I've figured out all the features on the jacket, I discover another!

And since the website only says "35+ pockets" even when I think I've found 35 pockets, I'm not sure I've got them all. I find myself thinking "does this count as a pocket? Does that count? If they don't, then where are the other pockets?"

Do pen pockets and earbud pockets count?

The fleece 4.0 says 12 pockets and I counted 16 if bottle loops and earbud pockets and pen pockets count.. If not, I get an even 12.

The jacket itself, I count a definite 30 pockets and 14 more "is it a pocket or not?" features...
