SCOTTEVEST/SeV is currently accepting requests for membership in "The Secret Pocket" - a special club for select SeV Owners. The benefits are many, the requirements are few... but we are limiting initial membership to 200 people (so don't delay)!

What you will get:
* Advanced notice on new products, including the ability to pre-order before anyone else. We have some new products coming out soon that will surely sell out, so this is a golden way to get on the list.
* Advanced notice of sales and/or secret sale codes that will not be published elsewhere.
* Exclusive content, including access to view and comment on upcoming SeV videos before they are released. Your comments could shape the future of SeV!
* Contests - separate from our other contest programs, fewer entries = better chances.
* Special tag line on your forum posts to indicate that you are on the 'inside.' (Ok, so maybe this last one is kinda lame, but there are plenty of new things we're working on that you'll have access to first).

For consideration, send a Private Message to me with the following info:
* When/where did you first hear about SeV
* Which SeV products do you have
* A story or photos of your experience with our products would be great! (We will, of course, have the right to use your story/images on our site... so if you don't want it displayed, don't send it!)

Shortcuts:
* If you have done a blog review, or video review, or video/photos of yourself someplace cool wearing an SeV... well, you'll be at the top of the list for membership (send a link).
* If you have an SeV Newsletter, order receipt or something that shows you have been an SeV fan for 4+ years that will pop you to the top of the list.
* If you have purchased an SeV within May/June 2008 (forward your receipt)... top of the list.
* If you post 10 or more comments on Scott's blog in June 2008(sensible/conversational comments, not spam, flame or trolling)... top of the list.
* If you make 50 or more (sensible, not spam, flame or trolling) posts on the SeV Forum in June 2008... top of the list.

Seriously... we will make this worth your while....

I first heard of Scottevest back in the PDA days at MobilePanet looking for cases for all the portable devices
Over time I have found the hidden pocket slacks to be the most valuable. I fact they get stolen out of the laundry more than I wear them out. I guess a compliment to the popularity. As troubling this is, I always replace them since nothing compares. :D

I first heard about SEV in 2002. I own several of the "system" jackets, plus all season jacket. I just ordered a hoodie and pullover. My best is the leather limited edition seen here http://community.scottevest.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/71/cat/509/limit/recent. Look forward to being a "s_c_et" member and p_ev_ew__g new items. Thanks!

* I first heard about SeV through an on-line CCW Instructor's blog; they said the product was superior, and it was! Purchased the product(s) both for my personal wear, and to show to CCW Students as a great alternative to the "other" vests out there.
* I wear a Travel-Vest daily - other than when the OAT's exceed 100-degrees. Plan to add a tec shirt (next) and Evolution jacket (this Fall)
* No stories to tell, other than my enjoyment with the comments I get from students when I start pulling stuff out of the vest. They're normally very impressed with how much you can stow, and how little it shows! IOn addition to a 1911 in an IWB holster I carry to extra magazines for my carry-weapon, a cell-phone, a tactitical flash-light and occasionally a music-source. I keep the ear-bud for my cell-phone in the vest along with the sterio buds for my MP3 player. When I get some photos I think worthy, I'll forward them, too!

fdiaferio, that Limited Edition looks awesome!

I've got several TEC shirts, pullovers, the hoodie, the tactical fleece and I can't remember what else! Don't wear them very often which is a pity, cos I ordered the wrong sizes and being in Australia, postage back and forth is pretty crazy so I use a forwarding service that takes aaaaages to ship.

Also *had* the cargo shorts, which I've lost. They're my favourite and I take them everywhere I travel :( The upside is that I just ordered the convertible cargo pants instead, along with the Evolution and another pullover :) And I would've gotten the microfleece pullover too if only I'd seen it earlier...

Re: the shortcuts, do we get bumped to the top automatically with our June order, or do we still have to PM?

I heard about Scottevest when I was doing a google search for concealed carry clothing. This was approximately a month or so ago. Since then I've placed two orders for the 270D Jacket and the Tactical 4.0. No real stories yet as it's bit hot down here in Texas to where jackets although I have travelled with the 270D Jacket and found it useful going through airport security. Future potential stories: I'm hoping to find the pants on sale in the near future <hint hint> as they would be useful for me when I travel to a few other places including China. Pickpockets and organized beggars as young as 5-6 years old tend to target travellers with bulging pockets for wallets and valuables. I think that the cargo pants will be useful in storing items in less typical areas of the pants. I'd love to see something in the form of flat front dress trousers.

That's a great story... maybe we can get a LoJack to fit in one of the hidden pockets?

Hi sdslim - one of the main advantages of the SeV for CCW is that it does not have a 'trademark' look that prints you from 1/4 mile away. It's not concealed if they know you're carrying it. ;) I think you'll like the TEC shirt a lot, since it has snaps down the front for quick access under the shirt. Stay safe,

You'll like the cargo pants since they convert into shorts, too - they're really handy for travel. The Evolution is one of my favorites, too.

Hi baldmonk - I made another post above about the TEC shirt for CCW... check that out. It's suitable for wear in warmer weather as a cover garment and can get the job done.

I'm not sure when the pants will go on sale next (though Secret Pocket Club members always get the heads-up before everyone else). The Hidden Cargo Pants would be great against pickpockets since you can put real valuables in the lower/deeper pockets, and "pocket money" in the typical hip pockets. If someone reached into the layered pocket while you were wearing them... you would know. There is also a zippered hidden pocket inside one of the hip pockets, just in case. If it weren't for the pocket cards, you might not find all the pockets in these... so no one else will, either!

I first purchased a tactile jacket and fleece liner in May 2008. Since this is summer I used the fleese to trave to SF, CA. Prior to this was my favorite LL Bean Jacket with 6 pockets. With the fleece jacket I was able to put all my stuff (cell phone, camera, Nuvi GPS, keys, change, wallet, travel papers, etc) in my fleese. I used to do the X-ray dance of unloading all my stuff into my briefcase, taking off my shoes running them through the X-ray and doing an encore of the X-ray dance to put all the stuff back. It was sooooo nice not to empty everything out (still had to do the shoe thing). Since May I made two additonal orders (which concerns my wife:mad:) that included two pairs of the cargo pants, a hat, and a second fleece. I was impressed since I ordered two different size pants I received an email to confirm my order (I made the mistake but it was nice to have someone confirm this) and the order was corrected painlessly. The magnetic clips are ingenious. Quality is top notch. Keep up the good design and work. The only thing that I though could be improved is the small pull tabs on the zipper. But I saw your post that you were going to use larger tabs, Keep up the good design and innovation.

Regards:)

Hi zatoichi (cool name, btw). I was wearing my hoodie last night and it's great for when it gets just a little chilly.

What do you think about the new site and updated forum? It's still a bit of a work in progress, so we really do listen to comments.....

Hi Everyone

I really appreciate all the comments and discussion on this thread. Perhaps we should break out some sub-threads to continue the relevant discussion, e.g., concealed carry, etc.

Thanks.

Hi! I just joined the forum!
* When/where did you first hear about SeV
At the Spy Museum in Washington DC
* Which SeV products do you have
I have the ballcap, the camo pullover fleece and a black pullover fleece. Love 'em!
* A story or photos of your experience with our products would be great! (We will, of course, have the right to use your story/images on our site... so if you don't want it displayed, don't send it!)
No specific story, just that they're awesome for walking my dogs - bags, gloves, leashes, water, treats, ... they all fit in my fleece! I'm saving up for the Fleece 5.0 - it looks great!

I first heard of Scottevest through the TWIT podcast.
I have the hat, fleece, tactical jacket, polo shirt, sweet shirt and the vest.
I get a lot of comments about the cool gear and want to know where to get their own.

Scottevest is a great company with an even greater product.

I don't own any of the Scott clothes yet. I found this last year because my wife has Raynaud's Disease. She get's so cold her skin turns a glossy yellow. This is very near tissue death. I am buying her a lot of this stuff for this winter. In another month, I will have saved enough to get her a coat and a couple of shirts. Here in Wyoming, as bad as the wind blows, you can get wind burn and that doesn't even consider the wind chill. So, if you need to stay warm, protected, and frostbite free. Buy as much as possible of Scott and layer, layer, layer!

hi all,

man its a pain to get cool things like sev down under (luckily i have a mate over there who can pass it onto me along with other american purchases). got a classic vest 4.0 back in the start of '07 from thinkgeek after doing a mass order for myself and some friends.
and then just before i went on a three week trip to hk/china i ordered two qzips. best decision i've made in a while; hk/china during june/july is like walking into a sauna. having the chest pocket to keep cash and cards was a lifesaver, wasn't too keen on being pick pocketed. i'm sure i've got some photos with the stuff on, but my camera got wrecked when someone bumped into me and knocked my camera to the ground.

hit me back if you want any more details, cheers.

I also just joined the forum. I have had 3 Scott EVest jackets. I currently have the Tactical 4.0. I am thinking about getting the Evolution jacket due to a change in my body weight.

I was emailing Laura Jordan this morning and she told me about the Quantum model. I saw the video and I think the Evolutiion may stilll be my next jacket.

Is the Secret Pocket Club closed for new members?

Wow- I first heard about Scottevest way back I think it was in 1996 or 97. At Disneyland no less. They were part of the presentation in Tomorrowland's future products display. I LOVED the idea-being a theme park screamer-and having a jacket that I could wear in the park, on rides and not worry about stuff falling out. However- that was version 1- and it was really made for colder climates- not the southwest- so it was hot- even with the sleeves zipped off. I've followed Scottevest through the years- and was estatic when they came out with the fleece one- PERFECT for southwest winters- not too warm, functional and very stylish. Now, if we could merge SeV with Bass Pro's Red Head lightweight fishing shirts with SPF protection- I wouldn't need to shop anywhere else!

This sounds like my kind of club. I have odd tastes in collections. I collect modern custom made damascus knives by some of the most talented artisans in the world. I am a hopeless gadget guy and travel a lot internationally. I also like the ovadafut brand socks by VK Nagrani (www.vknagrani.com) That's where I heard about SeV. The Nagrani fans are in to clothes so I checked you out on bladeforums.com and styleforums.com. Then I called and spoke with you. I bought 2 pair hidden cargo pants and a jacket. Later bought a leather jacket. It is now in your shop for a zipper repair.

I am now ordering another pair of slacks and the polo....

Fix my leather jacket and I'll post a blog pic/review!

also ordered the signature system... gret price....

I purchased 2 Outershell 4.0 jackets. I was looking for a replacement to my really old Jacket, and this one seemed awesome. I got a Medium and a Large. The Medium was a bit too small, but instead of returning it I gave it to one of my friends.

I just got my preorder for the signature system, cant wait ^_^

I hear about Scottecvest over ten years ago when the wires went up the placket along the zipper. I live in the subtropics and don't need warm wear, but my son lives in cold weather and I've tried to get him to let me get him one. I guess as a teen he had to have what everyone else at school wore. I've bought several of the tees and polos now that they have clothes for our climate and love them. I just bought the shirt for travel as well. We travel the world often and I love having a lot of pockets to hide things in and to keep things close at hand while flying. If you've flown lately you know what I mean. There is soo much room in those airline seats to move around now (right). We had twins last year and it is great having my cell where I can reach it while holding a child. The pocket on the tees is better than a money belt and easier to get to. If you tuck the tee in nobody knows there is a pocket there. I really hope they get the cotton polo. It would be better in the climate we live in.

I first heard about SeV back when they barely had like 1 or 2 years in existence. Unfortunately however, living overseas, and, living in a country whose credit-cards are not detected by websites (the websites just reply back with a message saying "the credit-card number is invalid"), I had to wait for a very long time to buy a Scottevest, until this company was opened: http://www.panamanetbuy.com, no more than 1 year ago.
Thanks to that company, I have finally been able to order Scottevest products.

Similar to Scott Jordan, I too carry a mother-load of stuff with me, and I had nowhere near "enough" pockets to carry even one-tenth of the amount of stuff I needed (let alone wanted) to take with me. My devices that I like to take with me include:

--my wallet (it's seriously thick. all the wallets that I've owned up until now, have broken at the seams, wasted at the seams, or worn out at the seams, because I carry so many receipts, dollar bills, plastics (credit cards, video-rental-store cards, prepaid calling cards, driver's license, ID card, student ID, etc), and whatnot, in there)
--cellphone (currently a slider-type Nokia 5300 cellphone)
--2 MP3 players
--portable DVD player
--keys
--earphones for my MP3 player
--headphones for my portable DVD player
--magazine and/or paperback (or hardbound) chapter book
--pens
--digital camera and its carrying case, or a disposable film-camera
--sunglasses and its carrying case
--PDA
--Nintendo DS Lite, or Gameboy-Advance-SP, or Gameboy-Color (or the first two together)
--occasionally a CD player

wayyyy too much stuff to carry with you in average clothing. I only dreamed that there was something that had more than enough pockets to carry all these things, use them without taking them out of the clothing (if possible), and carry the gadgets and electronics comfortably, without feeling the weight and/or "dread" of carrying so much stuff with you all at once. Unfortunately no clothes in existence (at that time) were like that, and when I told my mom about my concept of "clothes with the <above-mentioned characteristics>" she looked at me like if I was out of my mind. So I had no choice but to leave the majority of these things at home, and just take the "bare essentials": wallet, keys, and cellphone. I even later had to buy a mountain-climbing-type D-clip to clip my keys onto my belt-loop (when possible, because not all shorts have belt loops) so I wouldn't have to carry my keys in my pocket and bulk them up even more, because my only two available pockets were already taken up by my cellphone and my wallet.

If I wanted to listen to music, "no such luck", because I had no space to take my CD player nor MP3 player with me. Even the earphones and earphones-carrying-case would have to stay home because of this.

If I needed my sunglasses because of the glare of the sun, "no such luck", because I had no space in my clothes to put them or its carrying case, in.

If I wanted to take my Gameboy-Advance-SP or Nintendo-DS-Lite with me to play a video game on the road, "no such luck", because I had no space in my pockets of my pants, my shirt had no pockets, and my mom's purse was already filled and bulging to the point of outrageousness, with more stuff than women usually take with them in their purse.

Fortunately, thanks to Scott Jordan and Scottevest, my dream of having clothes like that, that you can carry as much stuff as you want with you, has come true.
