THINK YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO DESIGN SCOTTeVEST’S NEW LOGO?

SCOTTeVEST is looking for a new logo and they want to give their fans an opportunity to design it! And they're giving away some cool prizes to the best logo!

GRAND PRIZE INCLUDES:

--$500

--A SCOTTeVEST OF YOUR CHOICE

--FREE TEC HAT

--FREE GADGET TIE

As some of you are aware, SCOTT USA has filed a complaint as they feel that our logo and font are too similar to theirs, thereby confusing customers. Click here to read about the lawsuit. (http://www.mtexpress.com/2004/04-06-23/04-06-23scottlawsuit.htm) We don’t believe that there has been any confusion — no one has ever asked us to include some ski goggles or poles with their order ;) Nonetheless, we agreed to redesign the logo in an attempt to avoid litigation.

Ready to participate? Here's how!

1. Read the Official Contest Rules (http://www.scottevest.com/htmlemail/august_2004/rules.html) and Guidelines. (http://www.scottevest.com/htmlemail/august_2004/guidelines.html)

2. Artwork must be saved as a high-resolution, print-quality .eps, .ai, or .tif formatted file.

3. Email your submissions to logo@scottevest.com Include the artwork as an attachment, along with your contact information. Submission of any materials shall constitute your complete agreement to the Official Rules of the SCOTTeVEST’s “New Logo Contest" as outlined in the Official Contest Rules and Guidelines.

Why are these things always only open to participants from the US? And why do I always have to read the small print to find out?

I'd love to try to come up with an idea for the new logo, but why should I bother?

I love my scottevests and wouldn't give them away for anything! "You can have my jacket when you pry my dead cold hands from their pockets!"

Really, open this contest to the rest of the world! What kind of serious problems are you going to get if you do?

With frank admiration

I am sorry about the rules. If you want to waive any laws that may require further protections to foreign entries, I would welcome your application. Also, if you win, I would ask that you pick up the shipping costs to send the products to you, if that is ok?
