I'm really interested in the TEC Hat and plan on buying one shortly. I've been reading as much as I can online about it on the reviews and blogs. One thing that caught my eye was a comment someone made about the fact that if someone with malicious intent recognised the logo, they would know that there was most likely something valuable in it. It would be easy enough to grab it and run.
I'm not really worried about that happening but here's an idea. I have a cap right now for the Volvo Ocean Race and it has a cord attached to the back that has a little metal clip that you can clip to your collar. Obviously it's designed to keep it from blowing away when you're sailing. It's definitely not strong enough to stop someone intent on ripping it off your head but it is strong enough if the "bad guy" isn't really expecting it. When it's not in use, you just attach the clip onto the back of the hat (I attach it to the adjusting band).
Just an idea (plus it's useful for it's original purpose of keeping the hat on on windy days or boating or driving around in your convertible).
